Askuala — Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2025. These terms govern your use of the Askuala study platform. Please read them carefully.

Your Data Lives on Your Device

Askuala does not use any backend database, user accounts, or cloud storage. All of your data — including your study progress, enrolled programs, and settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your own device.

We have no access to your data. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself using the "Export Progress" feature in Settings.

No Tracking, No Analytics

Askuala does not use cookies, analytics services (such as Google Analytics), advertising trackers, or any other form of user monitoring. We do not know who you are, where you are, or how you use the app.

No personal information (name, email, phone, location, IP address) is collected, stored, or transmitted at any point.

Data Responsibility & Loss

Because all data is stored in your browser's local storage, it is your responsibility to maintain backups. Your data may be lost if you:

  • Clear your browser's cache or site data
  • Uninstall the app from your home screen (on some devices)
  • Use a different browser or device
  • Your browser applies storage eviction policies

Askuala is not responsible for any loss of study progress or data. We strongly recommend using the "Export Progress" button in Settings regularly to back up your data as a JSON file.

Terms of Use

By using Askuala, you agree to the following:

  1. Askuala is a free educational tool. You may use it for personal, non-commercial study purposes.
  2. The study plans, schedules, and content are for guidance only. Exam outcomes depend on your personal effort and preparation.
  3. You may not scrape, copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit the content or code of this platform without explicit written permission.
  4. Askuala is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee exam success, content accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
  5. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the platform at any time without notice.
Offline Functionality

The "Work Offline" feature caches selected program pages using your browser's Cache API (via a Service Worker). This cached content is also stored locally on your device. Clearing your browser cache or uninstalling the app may remove this offline content.

Offline access only works for programs you have explicitly downloaded. The app does not automatically cache everything.
